Cats at the Window, Cats in the House

Once upon a time on a cold wintery day Sprinkles the cat sat on the kitchen windowsill desperately dreaming of being in the warm house on the other side of the window.
She peered inside hoping one of the people living there might spot her.  Unsuccessful she decided to wait...
She waited....
and waited...
aaaannnnddd waited..
AAAANNNNDD waited....but no one came.
She even pressed her nose up against the glass thinking maybe her silly face would attract attention.  Unsuccessful, again.  So she turned her back, sad she couldn't enjoy the warm house.
Then there was a small tap on the window.  Yet Sprinkles was so discouraged, she didn't even hear it. Oreo heard it though.  She bolted across the yard and joined Sprinkles on the windowsill.  Oreo peered through the glass hoping to get into the warm house.
But this frustrated Sprinkles.  Since she had waited so long, she ought to be the one allowed inside when the window opened.
So she punched Oreo in the arm...
then pounced on her head...
But Oreo would not be defeated.  Rising from beneath she pushed Sprinkles down.
Yet in the act of doing that Oreo lost balance and flipped off the windowsill.
What a victory for Sprinkles.  She sat back and grinned, so proud of her accomplishment.
In that moment she thought she heard a tap on the window.  She spun around to check things out, but then remembered her victory over Oreo, stuck her nose in the air and turned her back.
And that's when the window began opening.  The rush of warm air and the pressing of the glass on her back startled Sprinkles.
She tumbled off the sill and scampered into the bushes below.
All along Flynn kept a watchful eye on the scene, observing the fight between her daughters, and now carefully watching the window open wider.  What would she do?  Oreo cowered off to the side as well, but her curiosity and desire for the warm air caused her to forget the whole episode with Sprinkles earlier.
She darted up to the windowsill once more and felt a burst of warmth on her paws.  Purr-fect!
The window continued to open as she peeked underneath.  Warm air tickled her whiskers.....

Tell us how you think the story ended!  Did Oreo get into the house?  Was Sprinkles brave enough to jump back up there to feel the warm air?  What happened to Flynn?

Off on an Adventure

hey friends!
i just wanted to pop in and let y'all know that i won't be blogging much from here on...
i know, {sniff} it's sad.  let me explain...
truth is, i'm a busy cat.  since my first adventure outside a few weeks ago i've been out a lot more.  these last few days especially i've been around the neighborhood exploring full-time!  and i think i'm ready to call it home.
that's right!
no more living inside- time to be free!
i know that all of you may be anxious about my wellbeing from here on out (i've heard there's a lot more danger out in "the wild"), so my owners have agreed to keep this blog up for me, giving little updates on my life as they watch me through the window.
how does that sound?
try not to worry too much about me.  i'm really having a blast!
i love y'all lots!

love, flynn

A Whole New World

hey guys!
sorry for my lack of blogging lately.  lots of you have told me it's time for another post...well here it is!
it's not that i've been busy or anything.  my owners are actually really busy and don't have as much time to create my posts as they once did...so sorry!
i'll try to get them to do better from now on.
i have some big news to share!!!!  drumroll please....
i got to go outside for the first time yesterday!!!!  yaaaaay!  a dream come true!
lemme check this place out...
there were these huge colorful boxy things moving quickly down the road that really interested me.  i know i've seen them from the window for forever, but i had no clue how big they are when you get up close.  my owners say they're called cars and trucks and that humans travel from one place to another in them.  really?  what's the point?  don't their legs work?  those crazy people...
how cool!  a truck!
it was a fabulous experience and i can't wait till my next outing!
